This project generally entails clearing approximately 65 acres of land, construction of an approximately 165,000 cubic yard earthen dike, installation of a gravel blanket drain within the dike, construction of a stabilized earth perimeter road, fabrication and installation of three steel box weirs and accompanying aluminum access walkway structure; installation of various piping, manholes and culverts, grassing establishment, and other associated work. The Contractor must include a written description of his/her experience and technical capabilities with such construction. At a minimum, this written description should include a description of at least 3 similar projects in the past 10 years on which the contractor was the general or primary contractor. All bids not containing written information demonstrating the Contractor's experience and technical capabilities will be disqualified. If in the opinion of the District and its Engineer, the Contractor's experience and technical capabilities do not indicate similar experience, the bid will be disqualified. The Contractor may be asked to provide additional information to assist the District and its Engineer in making this determination. The District will award the bid to the qualified and responsive Contractor with the lowest bid price. The BV-4B project area, located in Brevard County, Florida, just west of the Indian River between Mims and Titusville, and lies South of Cuyler Street and West of Hammock Road. The Contractor will have a period of 425 calendar days from the Notice to Proceed to Substantial Completion to construct the entire project.
