The purpose of this solicitation is to establish a one-year contract(s) for the Rental of a minimum of three (3) Dump Trucks with Drivers to assist in the collection and transportation of leaves, using Town-owned vacuum leaf collection equipment, for the Vienna Department of Public Works, Streets, Leaf Collection Program. Trucks will be utilized for towing leaf machines and/or for hauling leaves in bulk on an "as needed" basis. Leaf collection will be for two weeks in either November or December. The Town will provide one-week advance notification of the exact scheduling. Dump trucks shall report to the Northside Property Yard at 600 Mill Street NE, Vienna, Virginia each day by 7:00 a.m. to receive route assignments and collect leaf machines. Leaves are to be hauled to Free state Farms in Prince William County or other disposal facility as specified by the Town. The dump trucks will be used to tow Town owned vacuum leaf machines and the dump trucks will be loaded with leaves by these vacuum machines. Town crews will operate the leaf machines during the loading process. The contractor's driver shall be responsible for ensuring the leaf machine is correctly connected to the Contractors' truck. All tools that may be needed to assist in unloading of vehicle (pitchfork, shovel, etc.) will be supplied by the Contractor. The Town will not supply hand tools for Contractor's use. Drivers must abide by all local, county, state, and federal regulations. Located in Northern Virginia and approximately 14 miles from Washington D.C., the Town of Vienna is an incorporated town within Fairfax County--adjacent to Tysons Corner (Northeast), Oakton and Fairfax City (Southwest), Merrifield/Mosaic District (Southeast) and Reston (Northwest). The Town is 4.4 square miles and home to approximately 16,473 residents. Any bid may be withdrawn PRIOR to the scheduled time for bid opening or authorized postponement thereof. The Town of Vienna, VA is looking for a contractor to provide leaf collection services in the Fall of 2022. The award will be made on a lump sum basis, to the lowest responsive and responsible Bidder. The Town reserves the right to award to multiple contractors.
