Water Treatment Plant Sedimentation Basin Improvements consisting of demolition of existing sludge removal system repairing existing handrail, installation of new ladder and handrail, and extension of a separate sludge removal system within the sedimentation basin. All Bidders must comply with the requirements of the State Licensing Board for General Contractors (Latest Edition) and with the Alabama Act No. 97-225 (Title 39, Code of Alabama, 1975 as Amended) relating to competitive bid laws for public works. All Bidders must be properly licensed in accordance with the requirements of the State Licensing Board for General Contractors (Chapter 8, Title 34, Code of Alabama, 1975 or latest). Any contract or contracts awarded under this invitation for bids are expected to be funded by a loan from the State Revolving Fund from the Alabama Water Pollution Control Authority, administered by the Alabama Department of Environmental Management. Neither the State of Alabama, nor any of its departments, agencies, or employees is or will be a party to this invitation for bids or any resulting contract. This procurement will be subject to regulations contained in the laws of the State of Alabama and as applicable. Additional sets obtained shall be refunded 50% of the plan deposit. Plans may be obtained through electronically, in person or by mail. Please call to ensure availability if you wish to pick up plans at our office. Office hours are Monday - Thursday 8:00 - 12:00 and 1:00 - 5:00 and Fridays 8:00 - 12:00, CDT. Mail plan deposit checks to our post office box address; use our street address for UPS/FedEx shipments only. Plans are normally shipped via United States Postal Service. If you would prefer your plans shipped via UPS or FedEx, please include your shipping account number and preferred service (i.e. Ground, Priority Overnight, Standard Overnight, etc.). All non-bidders, subcontractors, vendors or dealers shall be refunded 50% of the plan deposit for each set returned to the Engineer, in reusable condition, within 10 days after the bid opening. The plan deposit amount as indicated above is in accordance with Alabama Act No. 97-225, (Title 39, Code of Alabama, 1975, As Amended), relating to the competitive bid laws for public works.
