Maurice J. McDonough High School HVAC Replacement. The Charles County Public Schools, La Plata, Maryland, requests sealed bids for Maurice J. McDonough High School HVAC Replacement. The project consists of the replacement of most of the existing HVAC system. The project consists of systemically replacing HVAC equipment with limited disruption to existing systems, ceiling systems, etc. The project consists of the replacement of most of the existing HVAC system. The intent is to provide flexibility in the proposed system to be easily reuse and adapted to for the future renovation work. Project will be in an occupied building requiring extended hours of work. Project schedule is 1,383 days. Proposed Bidders who seek to be pre-Qualified shall complete the Contractor's Pre-Qualification Questionnaire and submit for approval to bid this project. A certified check or bank draft, payable to the Board of Education of Charles County, or a satisfactory bid bond, executed by the bidder and a surety company, in an amount equal to five percent (5%) of the base bid, shall be submitted with each bid in accordance with the Instructions to Bidders. A letter shall accompany each bid from the bonding company guaranteeing to issue Payment and Performance Bonds. Davis-Bacon wage rates are applicable to this project and are issued by the U.S. Department of Labor. The applicable wage determination will be the Davis-Bacon wage determinations published electronically. No Bidder may withdraw his Bid within sixty (60) days after the actual date of opening thereof. There are no minimum minority requirements, although Bidders are encouraged to involve minority participation when possible. The Bidder shall submit the Major HVAC Equipment Submittal with the Bid with the expectation that the submittal review can be returned with the notice to proceed and save valuable lead-time on kitchen equipment ordering. The failure of a bidder to complete and submit all required forms shall result in a determination that the Bid is not responsive and a determination that the Bid is not susceptible for award.
