The Class B Portland Cement Concrete shall conform to the latest CalTrans Standard Specifications (see Appendix A) and the following requirements: 3/4 inch maximum combined aggregate grading; six (6) sacks of Portland Cement per cubic yard; 4 inches maximum slump; and 3,500 psi minimum compressive strength at 28 days. Additives: During the order, the City will specify the number of lamp black or pounds of accelerator admixture per cubic yard of Portland Cement Concrete. The supplier shall specify the accelerator type admixture to the City before mixing it to the cement for approval. Calcium Chloride shall not be used as an accelerator admixture. Concrete mix proportion: The supplier shall submit a certificate of concrete mix proportion for each load of ready-mixed Portland Cement Concrete attesting that the load meets the requirements for materials, strength, and proportions.
