Renovation of a municipal facility in Denton, Maryland. Completed plans call for the renovation of a municipal facility.

Caroline County Circuit Courthouse restoration of exterior site work, façade work and complete exterior restoration and rehabilitation. The County Commissioners of Caroline County are accepting bids (written quotes) for the wood replacement and painting of the Caroline County Circuit Courthouse located at 109 Market Street, Denton, MD 21629. Work is generally described as follows: -The project consists of the restoration of exterior site work, façade work and complete exterior restoration and rehabilitation. -All labor, tools, materials, equipment, and travel necessary to paint the designated areas of the exterior, replace cove base throughout, and replace damaged exterior wood at the Caroline County Courthouse for the term of this Agreement. The Contractor is responsible for field verifying all dimensions and existing site conditions pertinent to this Agreement. -The Contractor shall replace all damaged (rotted wood) of the exterior walls. The new wood shall be Cedar and primed before installation -Removal of old paint by sanding, scraping or other means may generate dust or fumes that contain lead -Existing Gutters and Downspouts: If needed, carefully remove gutters and downspouts and store securely for reinstallation. -General: Surfaces shall be dry and in sound condition. Remove oil, dust, dirt, loose rust, peeling paint or other contamination to ensure good adhesion. Protect adjacent and underlying surfaces. -All Wood: Must be clean and dry. Primed with two coats of primer and two coats paint as soon as possible. Knots and pitch streaks must be scraped, sanded, and spot primed before a full priming coat is applied. Patch all nail holes and imperfections with a wood filler or putty and sand smooth. -Existing wood cornices, including fascia boards and wood brackets are recommended to be restored. Damaged wood at fascia boards and cornices are recommended to be replaced with an appropriate decay-resistant wood (Cedar). Wood that is in good condition is recommended to remain in place, and to be modified as required for installation of new wood components to replace damaged components. -Primer should be Sherwin Williams Blocker Wood Primer; Paint should be Sherwin Williams Emerald Urethane Trim Enamel Bright White with a high gloss finish or equivalent Questions about this RFP and/or bid RFIs shall be made in writing and directed to: Primary Contact: Kevin Brown Facilities Superintendent Caroline County Department of Public Works 410-479-0520 kbrown@carolinemd.org
