Site work, paving, outdoor lighting and renovation of a mixed-use development in Bloomfield, Iowa. Completed plans call for the renovation of a residential development; for site work for a residential development; sidewalk / parking lot; for outdoor lighting for a sidewalk / parking lot; and for paving for a sidewalk / parking lot.
The work to be performed consists of demolition and removal of existing storefront windows and doors, infill panels, A/C window unit, upper windows, select glazing for (4) four facades. New construction includes new storefront windows and doors, upper windows, cleaning, tuckpointing and painting of masonry, accessible entrances including sidewalks and ADA push button installation, exterior light fixture installation. Additional work includes interior drywall, paint, and split system heating/cooling. The date for Award of Contracts for construction is anticipated on November 3rd, 2022, with the Notice to Proceed being issued no later than November 10 th, 2022. Construction Activities at the site: The contractor will have full access to the site for the duration of the project. Substantial completion by May 12 th 2023 required for project funding Contract will be awarded by the City Council on November 3 rd , 2022 with a notice to proceed issued no later than November 10th, 2022. Bid results are not official until announced by the City Council. A. Bid Security shall be made payable to the City of Bloomfield Iowa, in the amount of 10 percent (10%) of the Base Bid sum. Security shall be CERTIFIED CHECK, BANK CASHIERS CHECK or AIA A310 BID BOND issued by the Surety licensed to conduct business in the state in which the Project is being constructed. The Owner reserves the right to approve the sufficiency of the required bid security. B. The successful bidder's Security will be retained until it has signed the Contract and furnished the required PAYMENT and PERFORMANCE BONDS. The Owner reserves the right to retain the Security of the next three (3) lowest bidders until the lowest Bidder enters into a Contract or until sixty (60) days after bid opening, whichever is the shorter. All other Bid Security will be returned as soon as practical. If any Bidder refuses to enter into a Contract, the Owner will retain its Bid Security as liquidated damages, but not as a penalty. C. The Bid Security is to be submitted and attached to the BID FORM at the time of submission of Bids.
