Renovation of a mixed-use development in Whitehall, Michigan. Completed plans call for the renovation of a educational facility; and theater / auditorium.
SCOPE OF WORK/PROJECT All work must be done by a licensed contractor and in accordance with all applicable codes and professional standards. Workers must be licensed, certified or trained to perform the duties or use the equipment (including but not limited to lifts). All costs must be included in the bids (materials, labor, shipping, etc.) The District is tax exempt and a form will be provided to the awarded vendor upon request. There are two aspects to the project. The District anticipates a single award to the vendor with the lowest combined proposal. House Lights The House Light aspect consists of replacing the current fixtures (500 watt incandescent), not just bulbs, with new theatre grade fixtures and dimmable LED bulbs. There are 32 fixtures to be replaced. For house lights, the bulb should be a soft or warm white (3000K). The fixtures must work with our existing ETC light board (model: ) and Dimming Rack (Unison & Sensor). All fixtures can be accessed from the east catwalk above the rear of the auditorium or from the catwalk/gridwork above the stage. House lights over the seating area are accessible by a pull cable system. A safety vest MUST be worn when accessing lights when leaning over any rails. There will be some minimal training on use of dimmer for house lights, assume 1 hour. If energy rebates are available, the winning bidder will be expected to initiate any rebates. Stage Work Lights The Stage Light aspect consists of installing ten (10) LED flood work lights above the stage and controlled by a three-way switches mounted on either side of the stage in the back. A new feed from the electrical panel serving the stage is necessary. These lights are only for work lights and must neither be incorporated into the dimming and light control system nor the emergency lighting system. All fixtures, conduits, switches, etc. must be black or low reflective as approved by the district. Lights should be mounted 8' high on the stage with rigid conduit up to 12' and flex or rigid conduit to the electrical panel. Conduit should run along the sides to the front and across the top of the stage, possibly due to grid work if allowed by code. Two lights will be mounted on the gridwork and two lights will be mounted in the access rooms on ceiling tiles at the rear of the stage. A lift is available for this aspect of the project. Users of the list must be trained in the proper use of the lift. Appendix A contains a diagram and approximate location of the fixtures. ALTERNATE(S) No alternate equipment proposals are anticipated. Bids must remain valid for a period of 90 days from the opening Technical questions on the specifications may be directed to Steve Aardema at the above address or Office Phone: 231-893-1012 mailto:SteveAardema@whitehallschools.net. Feel free to contact me before the pre-bid for any questions. OCATIONS AND HOURS All the work should be able to be done at the Whitehall High School during normal hours.
