Renovation of an educational facility in Merced, California. Completed plans call for the renovation of a educational facility.

The Tenaya Fire Damper project shall occur in 2 phases. This first phase includes an assessment to determine what correction is required at each damper. The correction would include either rotating the fire damper, providing a new ceiling access panel or providing a new duct access. An inventory of the 101 fire dampers requiring correction has been included in Information Available to Bidders. The second phase will include the corrective work which will be bid at a later date. Any questions related to the bid and/or bid documents must be submitted in writing and submitted to Sara Anastos at contracts@ucmerced.edu. RFI questions must be submitted by Friday, September 23, 2022 by 4:00PM. LICENSE REQUIREMENTS: The successful Bidder will be required to have the following State of California Contractor's License current at the time of submission of the Bid: C-20 or B Payment Bond and Performance Bond For Contracts of $25,000 or more, Contractor shall furnish a Payment Bond in the amount of the Contract Sum. For Contracts of $50,000 or more, Contractor shall also furnish a Performance Bond in the amount of the Contract Sum. Each bond shall be effective as of the date of the Agreement, in the form of attached Exhibits, furnished by the University, and issued by a surety approved by University. Surety Companies used by Contractor shall be, on the date the Contract is signed by University, an admitted surety insurer (as defined in the California Code of Civil Procedure Section 995.120). Any clarifications, interpretations, corrections, and changes to the Bidding Documents will be made in writing by Addenda. The work described in the contract is a public work subject to section 1771 of the California Labor Code. No contractor or subcontractor may be listed on a Bid for this project (submitted on or after March 1, 2015) unless registered with the Department of Industrial Relations pursuant to Labor Code section 1725.5 [with limited exceptions from this requirement for bid purposes only under Labor Code section 1771.1(a)]. This project is subject to compliance monitoring and enforcement by the Department of Industrial Relations. In addition, the University is committed to promoting and increasing participation of small business enterprises (SBEs) and disabled veteran business enterprises (DVBEs) relating to all goods and services covered under the awarded agreement, subject to any and all applicable obligations under state and federal law, and University policies. The successful Bidder shall pay all persons providing construction services and/or any labor on site, including any University location, no less than the UC Fair Wage (defined as $15 per hour) and shall comply with all applicable federal, state and local working condition requirements. The Tenaya Fire Damper Testing Project includes assessment to determine what access correction is required to allow for adequate access to reset the fire damper for testing per NFPA 80 and NFPA 105 in The Summits: Tenaya Hall. This work may be performed in fully or partially occupied Housing building on an active University of California, Merced campus. Base work includes: 1. Phase 1 - Assessment Phase a. Performing an assessment to determine if access can be corrected by rotating the fire damper, providing ceiling access panel or providing a new duct access. An inventory of the 101 fire dampers requiring correction has been included. Contractor shall have a C-20 or B license. b. Contractor shall document the detailed location, name and/or number identification of each damper and subsequent photos (minimum of three (3) photos per damper) supporting the existing installation and recommended solution. The documentation including photos shall be submitted to the University within 3 days of the assessment being complete. c. Written report back to the University with detailed location, name and/or number identification with a minimum of 3 photos for each damper. Photos shall document the existing installation and recommended solution.
