The proposed work is located along Jefferson Street between Cesar Chavez Avenue and Avenue F1/4 alignment (Parkview Avenue) within the limits of the City of Somerton. The work consists of, but is not limited to installation of about mile of 4 and 5 diameter electrical conduit(s), pull/junction box, switch cabinet, and transformer concrete pad as shown on APS plans to provide a complete electrical service to the Somerton High School Sewer Lift Station. The project also consists of installing conduit across a paved road, curb and sidewalk, and a paved pathway at Cesar Chavez Avenue via an open trench method or by direction boring method. Work will be performed per specifications in the Contract Documents and APS final design Plans. All bids must be sealed in a plainly marked envelope, addressed to the Director of Public Works, City of Somerton, 143 N. State Avenue, Somerton, AZ, 85350. Pursuant to A.R.S. 34-201, the bid must be accompanied by a certified check, cashier's check or a surety bond - payable to the City of Somerton, Arizona for at least 10% of the total bid price as a guarantee that the bidder will enter into a contract to perform the bid in accordance with the plans and contract documents, within 10 days after the Notice of Award. The city will award the contract in compliance with the laws of the State of Arizona, and the Contractor will be required to perform any contract awarded in compliance with all applicable Federal laws, State of Arizona laws and City of Somerton ordinances. The prime Contractor shall either have a State of Arizona Classification A , C-11 , or CR-11 Contractor's license to perform the work. A bid submitted by any Contractor not properly license at the time of the bid opening shall be considered non-responsive and will be rejected.
