Demolition and site work for a medical facility in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Completed plans call for the demolition of a 310,000-square-foot medical facility; and for site work for a medical facility.
Complete demolition to the former Byron Health Center building approximately 213,000 sf and complete demolition to the Kidder Building approximately 97,000 sf The base bid scope is as follows: 1. Contractor is to furnish all labor, materials, and equipment necessary for the complete demolition and removal of the Byron and Kidder Buildings and Foundations, site hardscapes, and utilities as shown on the contract drawings. 2. Dumpsters for disposal of all demolition debris are to be included in the base bid and provided by this contract. a. Absolutely no burning or burying of materials is permitted. 3. Recycling of metal scrap is at the discretion of the awarded contractor. Any Funds received from the recycling efforts are the awarded contractor's to keep. 4. Contractor should include in the base bid all street cleaning and maintenance of the streets surrounding the property through the duration of the project. 5. Contractor should include in the base bid daily cleanup and consolidation of stockpiles of demolished material on the site. 6. Contractor is responsible for temporary toilets as required by OSHA and should be included in the base bid for the duration of the project. 7. Contractor is responsible for temporary power, as the power has been shut off to the buildings. All costs for power required by this contract should be included in the base bid. 8. Contractor is responsible for temporary water as the water has been shut off to the buildings. All costs for water required by this contract should be included in the base bid. 9. Contractor is responsible for all fire protection measures necessary and as required by OSHA. 10. The drawings indicate backfilling and compaction of the buildings footprint upon foundation demolition. This contract is responsible for all sourcing, importing, backfilling, compacting, of all fill material to the grades as indicated on the drawings. Sturges Development has a potential source for backfill materials relatively close to the project site and can provide the geotechnical reports for the source materials upon inquiry. a. No borrow pits will be allowed onsite 11. Contractor is required to coordinate and schedule the Owner's Geotechnical Representative to observe and test all backfill operations. See specifications for testing frequency requirements.
