**As of November 11, 2022, this project has been awarded to Interwest Construction, Inc in the amount of $4,993,259.25 This project will improve Race Street from 8th Street to Olympic National Park to expand nonmotorized movements and to visually improve the corridor. A shared use path will be constructed along the western portion of Race Street. The project also includes pavement repair, stormwater system upgrades, pedestrian lighting and replacement of sidewalk and curb ramps. The Race Street water main between Park Street and 8th Street will be replaced and upsized. The replaced water main will be generally located parallel to the existing water main and constructed in a manner to maintain function ofthe existing water system prior to connection of the new water main. The project will be built in more than one phase. The first phase is planned to be constructed between East 8th Street and the Olympic National Park visitor center.
