The City of Hollywood is seeking responses from qualified and certified irrigation contractors to provide irrigation services including installation, repairs, and renovations to all city right of ways, roadways, medians, swales, gateways, parks, and facilities as needed. All fees shall remain firm and fixed throughout the initial and any renewal periods of the agreement unless agreed upon by both parties. The City reserves the right to cancel the agreement for convenience upon thirty (30 days). The bid also includes the purchase of various irrigation systems parts and accessories. All work performed under this bid will be on an "as needed basis." The City makes no guarantee of a specific volume of work to be performed under this bid. All work performed under this bid must comply with all local, state, and federal codes relative to the type of work being performed. The awarded Contractor will be required to provide all equipment necessary to perform work under this bid (backhoes, cranes, trench diggers, etc.). The City will not purchase, lease, or otherwise acquire any equipment for use by the awarded Contractor in the performance of work under this bid. The awarded Contractor will be required to provide a written job quote for each job performed under this bid. The awarded Contractor pricing will be used as the basis for each job quote. Each job quote must contain a detailed listing of hours and hourly cost required to complete the job, plus a detailed listing of parts and accessories (materials) required to complete the job. The listing of parts and accessories must include the awarded Contractor cost and price to the City based on the percentage (%) markup bid by the awarded Contractor. The City reserves the right to require the awarded Contractor to provide documentation to substantiate their material cost. Prior to the commencement of any work, notice will be provided to the contract administrator. When working in rights-of-way, personnel are required to wear safety vests. Proper safety signage, such as "Men Working Ahead", traffic cones, flagmen or other warning devices should be used to alert motorists of work in the area. All signs shall be temporary and must be in accordance with the Florida Department of Transportation's Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices and Safe Practices. OSHA standards shall be utilized where applicable. The awarded Contractor shall leave the work site in a neat and orderly fashion at the end of each workday. The awarded Contractor shall take all the necessary precautions to ensure the worksite is protected and safe using barriers, warning signs, and other forms of protection, if needed to maintain a safe distance by avoiding creating hazardous conditions for pedestrians, property and vehicles. The awarded Contractor will remedy all damages to property by acts of omission, or vandalism which occurs as a result of their work. The awarded Contractor will be required to utilize the same brand of material/systems currently being utilized by City or currently being replaced/repaired, unless not available. Any change in product brand from existing material must be approved by the City.
