DSA Application No. 04-120603 DSA File No. 30-C5 Project construction is $1,850,000.00 Location- 5500 Irvine Center Drive IRVINE, CALIFORNIA 92618 1. Interior Work. CBC Chapter 11B accessibility compliance improvements in existing staff and student restrooms, inclusive of demolition/removals and complete replacement of all plumbing fixtures, toilet compartments/partitions, toilet room accessories, finish hardware as noted, light fixtures, and finishes. (Interior/exterior work: Removal of existing curtain wall mullion components to create new patio pair doors access. 2. Exterior Work. New outdoor patio comprised of new paving, perimeter walls and egress gates, perimeter concrete planters also defining the patio enclosure with glass fencing; new coffee cafe structure; new shade structure with heater units, fans, lighting, and PVC roofing; lighting, power and data; new pavements and hardscape; and new landscaping and irrigation. Bids for the Project shall be pursuant to the formal bid procedures under the California Uniform Public Construction Cost Accounting Act (CUPCCAA) as set forth in Public Contract Code 22037. Bidders must independently evaluate Project requirements and propose a price for completing Project construction and other obligations under the Contract Documents based on each Bidder s independent evaluation. . Contractors License Required . Bidders must submit Pre-Bid inquiries or clarification requests through the electronically . Bidders must submit Pre-Bid inquiries or clarification requests through the PlanetBids portal. Pre-Bid questions or clarification requests musts be submitted no later than 10/27/2022 at 5:00 PM. The District will not respond to any Bidder inquiries or clarification requests submitted after such date/time. District responses to Bidder inquiries or clarification requests will be not be directly distributed to Bidders; District responses will be communicated to Bidders by posting on the PlanetBids portal. Bidders are solely responsible for accessing the PlanetBids portal to review District responses to Bidder inquiries or clarification requests. Bidders may request the District accept alternatives to materials, equipment or other products specified in the Contract Documents by brand, trade name, model number or other similar designation ( Specified Products ) by submittal of a written request to the District ( Substitution Request ) no later than 10/27/2022 at 5:00 PM. 6. Bid Security . Bid Proposals must be submitted with Bid Security in an amount equal to ten percent (10%) of the Bidder s proposed price to complete Project construction and obligations under the Contract Documents. Bid Security shall be in the form of cash, cashiers/certified check payable to the District, or Bid Bond in the form and content included with the Contract Documents. Submittal of Bid Security shall be in accordance with the Information for Bidders. Prevailing Wage Rates . The California Department of Industrial Relations ( DIR ) has determined the general prevailing rates of per diem wages for the locality of the Work. Submitted Bid Proposals may be withdrawn via the electronically Portal prior to the latest date/time for submitting Bid Proposals. Bid Proposals shall remain firm, binding and enforceable for sixty (60) days after the opening of Bid Proposals. The Bidder and all Subcontractors shall be DIR Registered Contractors pursuant to Labor Code 1725.5. The Bid Proposal of a Bidder who is not a DIR Registered Contractor when the Bid Proposal is submitted will be rejected for non-responsiveness. All Subcontractors identified in a Bidder s Subcontractors List must be DIR Registered contractors at the time the Bid Proposal is submitted. The Contract, if awarded, will be by action of the District s Board of Trustees to the responsible Bidder submitting the lowest priced responsive Base Bid Proposal. If Alternate Bid Items are included in the bidding, the lowest priced Bid Proposal will be determined on the basis of the Base Bid Proposal , The District reserves the right to reject any or all Bid Proposals or to waive any irregularities or informalities in any Bid Proposal or in the bidding.
