The CVRD is adding a second, above grade, water reservoir to replace the existing reservoir located at Mesachie Lake on Vancouver Island, B.C. The proposed reservoir will be a prefabricated Glass Fused to Steel Potable Water Tank. It will be located adjacent to the current reservoir shown on the drawing attached in Appendix G. Through this RFP, the CVRD is seeking qualified proponents to submit proposals for the following general scope of work, including, but not limited to: Design, supply and installation of a new reservoir foundation including site preparation works, drainage and water works tie ins; Provide P.Eng. stamped drawings for foundation, tank, appurtenances and accessories; Supply and install the reservoir tank and roof; Supply and install all tank appurtenances and accessories; Supply and install all associated valves and fittings including reservoir inlet/outlet mechanical works (tie-ins); Remove and relocate any existing impacted utilities; Miscellaneous site works, fencing and surface restoration as required; and Reservoir tank testing and commissioning; Tank Requirements Factory applied Glass-Fused-to-Steel bolted water storage tank; Diameter is flexible but the height is not to exceed 30 feet; Tank Storage Requirements: Potable Water; Specific Gravity: 1; Minimum useable Capacity of 275 Cubic Meters; and, Roof Type: Knuckle or Dome. Design Standards: The design needs to be in accordance with applicable regulations and standards including, but not limited to: AWWA, NFPA, NSF, BC Building Code, National Building Code, and WorkSafe BC; and, The materials, design, fabrication and erection of the bolt together tank needs to conform to the AWWA Standard for “Factory-Coated Bolted Steel Tanks for Water Storage” AWWA D103 (latest edition).
