Site work and paving for a civil project in Stratford, Ontario. Completed plans call for site work for a bridge / tunnel; for paving for a road / highway; road / highway; and water / sewer project.
The work under this Contract generally consists of construction of the temporary McCarthy Road extension from the existing west McCarthy Road limits to O'Loane Ave in Stratford. The extension is approximately 216 meters in length and shall be completed as a "gravel road". Earth excavation and moving activities primarily include excavation of native materials, moving them to pre-determined locations on site, and grading the proposed road base and drainage areas. Construction also includes the installation of culverts, and road construction including the supply, placement, grading and compaction of granular 'A' and 'B' as per the provided typical cross-section. Public and environmental safety is a priority. Silt fence shall be installed as per the contract drawings as this area includes some environmental hazards and delineator posts are to be installed along the proposed road shoulder. Traffic control will be required as necessary and the Contractor shall supply, erect, and maintain all necessary warning signs, delineator hazard marker, and competent flagmen to ensure that traffic can be maintained with safety and minimum disruption.
