For Clarke Community School District - Elementary School Renovations Summary Project Description: This project consists of mechanical and related ceiling upgrades within portions of the existing Clarke Elementary School. The work is intended to take place during the summer of 2023. There is an alternate for upgrades to the gymnasium. See construction documents for additional information. A. Notice is hereby given that the Clarke School Board (the "Board") will hold a PUBLIC HEARING on the above referenced Project at 5:30 PM at their Special Board Meeting on Tuesday, November 1st at The District Office: 802 N Jackson St, Osceola, IA 50213. B. A copy of proposed Contract Documents is on file for public inspection at the office of theSuperintendent. C. At said Hearing, any interested person may file written objections or present oral commentswith respect to the subject matter of the Hearing. Bids must be submitted on the approved Bid Form available in the Contract Documents or aprintable electronic Bid Form is available from the Architect. No oral, facsimile, electronic ortelephonic bids or modifications will be considered. Bids received after the deadline for submission of Bids as stated herein shall not be considered and shall be returned to the lateBidder unopened. Each Bidder shall accompany its Bid with Bid Security, filed in a separate envelope, assecurity that the successful Bidder will enter into a Contract for the work bid upon inaccordance with the Contract Documents and statutory requirements. The Bidder's securityshall be in an amount equal to 5% of the total amount of the Base Bid and shall be in the formof cash or a cashiers check or a certified check drawn on an FDIC insured bank in Iowa or anFDIC insured bank chartered under the laws of the United States; or a certified share draft drawn on a credit union in Iowa or chartered under the laws of the United States; or a Bid Bondand shall be made payable to Clarke Community School District and the proceeds retainedas penalty if the Bidder fails to execute a contract and file acceptable Performance andPayment Bonds or provide an acceptable Certificate of Insurance within 10 days after theacceptance of such proposal by resolution of the Board. Consideration of the Bids received, and the award of the Contract or other action may be madeby the Board upon the proposals received in accordance with the law and the Contract Documents at a meeting to be held at such later time and date as may be fixed Work under the proposed Contract shall be commenced upon receipt of signed Contract. The Board reserves the right to reject any and all proposals, re-advertise for new bids and towaive informalities that may be in the best interest of the School District. By virtue of statutory authority, a preference will be given to products and provisions grownand locally produced within the State of Iowa and to Iowa domestic labor. The successful Bidder will be required to furnish a Performance Bond, a separate Labor &Payment Bond, both in an amount equal to 100% of its Contract Price, and Insurance; saiddocuments to be issued by a responsible Surety approved by the Board and shall guaranteethe faithful performance of the Contract and the terms and conditions therein contained.
