Work Location: Counties of Caroline, Essex, Gloucester, King George, King & Queen, King William, Lancaster, Mathews, Middlesex, Northumberland, Richmond, Spotsylvania, Stafford and Westmoreland. PURPOSE: The Virginia Department of Transportation (herein referred to as "VDOT") is soliciting bids from qualified firms to provide the necessary management, equipment, personnel, supervision, and materials to perform Plant Bed and Ornamental Tree Maintenance Services on various routes within the VDOT Fredericksburg District, specifically the counties of Caroline, Essex, Gloucester, King George, King & Queen, King William, Lancaster, Mathews, Middlesex, Northumberland, Richmond, Spotsylvania, Stafford and Westmoreland. PERIOD OF CONTRACT: From date of award through one (1) year. (Renewable) QUESTIONS REGARDING THIS INVITATION FOR BID: Any questions regarding this invitation for bid shall be addressed to Kristy Jeter at Kristy.Jeter@VDOT.virginia.gov . The issuing office shall determine whether any addendum should be issued as a result of any questions or other matters raised. Provide questions no later than 5:00 PM on November 2, 2022. A. Scope of Work Contractor shall perform landscape maintenance on established ornamental landscaped sites (as identified by the Contract Administrator or designee). The landscape maintenance activities shall include: pruning, mulching, mowing, weeding, debris removal, litter removal and plant removal/replacement. All services shall be industry standard practices to maintain the health of the ornamental plantings while achieving an aesthetically pleasing appearance. The Contractor shall provide its' own supervision, labor, equipment, maintenance and repair, fuel, traffic control (per the most recent version of the Virginia Work Area Protection Manual) and all other incidentals needed to meet the requirements of this IFB. Operations must commence within (10) ten days of issuance of a Purchase Order.
