As of September 24 2025 this project is complete. The Village of Palatine, Illinois (Village) is soliciting qualified and interested firms to submit statements of qualifications for providing all services, supervision, labor and equipment necessary to provide the Village with Architectural and Engineering Services for the renovation of two fire stations, Station 82, located at 1475 North Hicks Road, and Station 85, located at 39 East Colfax Street, both within the Village of Palatine. All questions shall be submitted by email to Harry Spila (hspila@dolandengineering.com) by 4:00 PM (local time) on November 4, 2022. A response to all questions received will be provided via email and posted on the Village website after 5:00 PM (local time) on November 8, 2022. Project Information: The current Fire Department Administrative offices are located in Station 85. The Administrative offices have outgrown that location. Therefore, the need for a single-story addition to Station 82 has become necessary. The original plans for Station 82 contemplated expansion to the north of the building and provided space for growth in that area of the site. The vacated administrative offices in Station 85 will be re-purposed into uses supporting the Station 85 staff. Additionally, a building assessment of both Stations is required to determine the repair and replacement needs of the building components. Anticipated Work items may include, but are not limited to, the following: o Conducting a building assessment of the existing fire stations o Pre-design o Cost estimating at different phases of the project o Schematic design o Design development o Preparing construction documents o Building permitting o Assisting with bidding and negotiation o Providing construction administration The anticipated construction cost of the project is $3,250,000. The Village of Palatine may conduct interviews with and/or require presentations of the firms who submit acceptable or potentially acceptable qualifications as part of the SOI for this project. Ranking and Selection Information On the basis of the evaluations, interviews and presentations, the Village shall select no fewer than two firms which it determines to be the most qualified to provide services regarding the specific project. The Village shall then contact the top ranked firm and attempt to negotiate a contract. If a satisfactory contract cannot be reached with the top ranked firm, negotiations with that firm shall be terminated and the Village will start negotiations with the next highest ranked firm. Firm ranking will be based on the following criteria: o Firm Experience o Specialized Expertise o Staff Capabilities o Work Load Capacity o Past Performance The Method of Contractor Selection has not been determined at this time.
