Lethbridge Transit will be designing and building new CityHUBs as part of the Lethbridge Transit network. These HUBs are necessary in order to maximize the safety and efficiency of the cityLINK transit network. These HUBs will also provide customers and operators with improved amenities, including real time information, shelter from the weather, private operator washroom facilities, wayfinding signage, and linkages with future micro mobility products creating an overall improved transit experience. CityHUBs will be strategically located along main corridor high frequency lines and provide an accessible, safe location for customers to interface with demand response, and bicycle/car/scooter share, further enhancing mobility options throughout the community. CityHUBs may also support future charging infrastructure for zero emission buses. The intent is to build new CityHUBs at the existing four (4) sites located at; Sunridge, West Highlands, Sherring Station, and Southgate. TIMELINE: Request for proposals from design and consulting firms closed at the owner in late 2022; award details unreleased. The goal was to review site locations; design the CityHUBs to facilitate the necessary amenities, and functionality required to support the buses, operators, and citizens using the HUBs. Projects are currently included in the owner's 2022-2031 Capital Improvement Program. Tender and construction timelines are subject to funding approvals. Project may be republished in the future, pending owner's decision to proceed. Coverage of this report is discontinued at this time.
