Patterson and Chapman Drainage and Pedestrian Improvements VDOT Project No. U000-128-R55; UPC 117174 VDOT Project No. U000-128-R51; UPC 116695 The proposed project is composed of two (2) individual sets of construction plans. The Boulevard Street and Patterson Avenue Street Improvements project is generally described as the construction of sidewalk, improved pedestrian crossings, bioretention BMP, selective road reconstruction, milling/overlay and drainage improvements. The Stormwater Drainage Improvement Project for Chapman Avenue/19th Street, SW will continue a storm drain pipe system from the above project, easterly approximately 975 linear feet along Chapman Avenue and tie into an existing storm system at the intersection of 19th Street, SW. The Project and the work, services, and materials for such Project are subject to a Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT or Department) Programmatic Project Administration Agreements dated June 9th, 2022 and July 15th, 2022. Various VDOT, local, State and/or Federal terms and provisions as set forth therein or referred to therein and in the bid documents and/or any resultant contract documents. Bids may not be withdrawn for a period of sixty (60) calendar days after the opening of bids unless the bid is substantially lower than the other bids because of a clerical error as defined in Section 2.2 - 4330, of the Code of Virginia (1950), as amended. Pursuant to Section 2.2 - 4330 (B)(1), the bidder shall give notice in writing and shall submit the original work papers with such notice to the City of its claim of right to withdraw the bid within two (2) business days after the opening of bids. The City expressly reserves the right to cancel this ITB and/or reject any or all bids, to waive any informality or irregularity in the bids received, and to accept a bid which is deemed to be in the best interest of the City. The project is located in Southwest Roanoke near the intersection of Patterson Avenue and Boulevard Street. The plans include construction activities along Patterson Avenue, Boulevard Street and Chapman Avenue within existing variable right-of-way. See Plans for limits of construction. This project consists of the construction storm drainage, sidewalk, concrete curbing & entrances, improved pedestrian crossings, and bioretention system. The goal of this project is to improve drainage and pedestrian safety within this corridor. This short description, however, shall not, in any way, be construed to limit the Contractor's obligation for compliance with the contract documents 12:19422, 2021-067, 6886, 21-304
