Renovation of a service station / car wash facility in Richmond, Virginia. Completed plans call for the renovation of a service station / car wash facility.

Limited Concrete Repair and Steel Ring Replacement. Cities: Colonial Heights, HopeWell, Petersburg, and City of Richmond. Counties: Charles City, Chesterfield, Dinwiddie, Goochland, Hanover, Henrico, King William, New Kent, Powhatan, and Prince George. Response to all questions will be posted by November 09, 2022. Contact initiated by a bidder concerning this solicitation with any other GRTC representative, not expressly authorized elsewhere in this document, is prohibited. Any such unauthorized contact may result in the disqualification of the bidder from this transaction Scope of Work o Provide traffic control measures including warning signs, safety cones and safety warning fence around the work area. Min. of 2 warning/slow down construction area signs are to be placed at both ends of the drive approaching the construction area. One for buses turning into the area under the bridge and another sign just as buses are approaching the work area past the overhead bridge. Surround the work area with safety cones and safety fencing that is visible during night operations. o Saw cut approximately 8ft x 12ft section of concrete around the fuel tank fill rings refer to images below (Attachment C). Demo area includes total of 4 tank covers, outer steel rings and surrounding concrete. Demo concrete down to base course, remove existing broken covers along with their steel rings. Cut and remove existing steel reinforcing in the open area. o Tamp down any exposed sub-base materials; Provide base course material as needed to replace that removed in the demo with 21-B aggregate material, tamp down. o Install new steel reinforcing of #4 rebars placed 8 inches on center each way. Install new 4-inch x 4-inch welded wire mesh only if existing in pavement. o Install with epoxy, steel dowls of 16 inches long, doweled into existing slab at least 8 inches at 24 inches on center. Gain approval to proceed from GRTC. o Prepare form work if needed, pour 4inches to 6 inches 4000 psi concrete w/min. 28-day full compressive strength. Finish is a non-slip broom finish perpendicular to route of traffic. Cover during curing. Ensure there is a hump in the concrete (acts as a water guard and speed hump) on the approach side of the new concrete area. Hump should match existing condition. o Set new steel ring and covers to match existing. o Protect against damage by leaving protection barriers in-place with traffic warning cones. o Discard all waste material and leave site area clean and free of debris.
