Site work and new construction of a religious / funeral development in Norfolk, Virginia. Completed plans call for the construction of a religious / funeral development; and for site work for a religious / funeral development.
The Work under this project consists of constructing three cast in place concrete mausoleums with foundations and granite facades. Question Submission Deadline:November 22, 2022, 4:00pm All Requests for Information (RFIs) shall be submitted no later than November 22, 2022 at 4:00 p.m. through the Questions portal at Work to be Substantially Completed in: 120 calendar days Liquidated Damages: Two Hundred Dollars ($200.00) per day Performance Bond: one hundred percent (100%) Payment Bond: one hundred percent (100%) Bid Bond: five percent (5%) Contact: Tammy Halstead, P.E., Project Manager Tel: (757) 664-4632 Email: tammy.halstead@norfolk.gov A. Construct three (3) poured-in-place concrete mausoleums consisting of 120 single crypts, with trays, and 100 niches. Overall measurement of each mausoleum shall be approximately 63ft long x 8ft wide x 16ft high. Crypt layout shall be six (6) high by twenty (20) across, including two oversized columns (3'-2" wide) at each end. Niche layout shall be ten (10) high by five (5) across on each end. B. All poured-in-place concrete must be minimum 3,000 PSI mix design, reinforced with grade 60 reinforcing steel. C. Provide crypt fronts and niche fronts in Blanco Perla polished granite. The trim and wall panels are to be Impala Black polished granite. Samples shall be submitted for approval. The side crypt end walls shall contain the niches. The rear crypt end wall and the fascia are to receive a painted concrete finish. D. Provide roofing material of applied silicone Progressive or equal. The roof drainage system shall be installed through the crypts and 5' beyond the building. Connect drainage system to provide proper runoff at the back of the structure and direct away from the structure and foundation. The end of drainage system pipe shall be flagged so the Owner can connect to his drainage system. E. Provide the Owner with signed and sealed construction documents (including plans and specifications) which must meet all state and local codes. Plans shall be submitted for review prior to commencing construction. Upon completion of the project the Contractor shall provide the City with signed & sealed as-built drawings in ACAD & PDF formats. F. Obtain all permits necessary to comply with City Codes and Ordinances. G. Provide silt fence for construction area. Stabilize excavated soils and monitor site runoff in accordance with the Virginia Erosion and Sediment Control Handbook. Sod or seed areas denuded by construction as directed by Construction Project Manager. H. Replace any sidewalk, asphalt, fences, signs, and structures damaged during construction at Contractor's own cost. I. Provide temporary services needed for the construction site, including, but not limited to: electrical service, temporary water, other utilities and temporary bathroom facilities for personnel. J. Appendices C and D are included for reference to further illustrate the City's intent of this project. These appendices represent plans and photographs of mausoleums previously constructed by the City, and shall be adapted for use at the Calvary Cemetery site, using the geotechnical and other information provided.
