State is in need of technical and professional assistance to create a Corridor Planning Program Guidebook that will provide direction to MnDOT and local agency planners and external consultants in conducting corridor planning activities on state highways. The guidebook will serve as a starting point when conducting corridor plans to help planners consistently evaluate elements such as infrastructure, safety, and sustainability; and to avoid having to start from scratch with each corridor planning effort. This project will closely coordinate with a separate concurrent/related effort to create a process that will be used to identify and prioritize transportation corridors throughout Minnesota for future study under a new state highway corridor planning program.
