The City of Geneva is seeking qualified vendors with experience and interest to present their qualifications and capabilities to provide landscape architectural and design services for the City of Geneva, Illinois. The City of Geneva reserves the right to reject any and all proposals or parts thereof, to waive any irregularities or informalities in proposal procedures and to award the contract in a manner best serving the interest of the City. The City of Geneva invites contractors to submit a Statement of Qualifications from qualified firms to provide landscape architecture and design to refresh an existing landscape buffer between commercial properties on the west side of Bent Tree Drive and residential properties on the east side of Bent Tree Drive. The City of Geneva is seeking to modernize, refresh, and replace as necessary an approximately 30-year old landscape buffer located on the west side of Bent Tree Drive within the Eaglebrook Subdivision. The project area is approximately 1.52 acres and all located within existing Right of Way (ROW), Public Utility Easements (PUE) or landscape buffers. All ROW, PUE and landscape buffers are controlled by the City of Geneva. The area does not nor will it have an integrated irrigation system. The City is seeking to retain a well-established and qualified firm capable of providing design services and a multi-year maintenance program to establish the final design. The successful firm will provide an initial assessment of existing conditions, determination of salvageable landscape materials, proposed conditions, estimate of construction costs, construction observation, contract management and a minimum of a three (3) year maintenance plan. Attached for your reference are three maps outlining the eligible ROW and easements. The selected firm will design, construct and maintain the area in a manner defined in detail in a contract agreement to be negotiated after final selection. All construction phases will be liable to the current Prevailing Wage Standard. The project will be completed in the following manner: 1. Phase I Design and Assessment- (Estimated 05/01/23 to 04/30/24) Contractor shall assess existing conditions and make recommendations of salvageable landscape materials, removals or hazardous conditions/invasive species. Contractor shall meet with City to develop preferred landscape materials and City Code requirements. Materials shall be selected with the emphasis on low maintenance needs after establishment. Design should consider focus on natural, native and local trees and plants when possible. Contractor shall develop a master landscape design plan and project narrative for the corridor. The method of contractor selection has not been determined at this time. Contractor shall prepare specifications, cost estimates, contract documents and annual maintenance plan for design for a minimum of three years. All materials shall be warranted for first twelve months.
