Site work and paving for a road / highway in Oswego, Kansas. Completed plans call for site work for a road / highway; and for paving for a road / highway.
For constructing (or improving) the project designated above, and consisting of overlaying the following: NOTE: The City of Oswego, Kansas is requesting that the contractor follow the MODOT index pricing for oil and diesel fuel. NOTE: All measurements are approximate and do not include radiuses. 1. Fairground 1176 ft. 2. 3rd & Union to Oregon & 2nd St. 700 ft. 3. 9th & Highway 59 around to 10th & Merchant 650 ft. 4. Kansas & 8th to Railroad Tracks 675 ft. 5. 4th & Adams around to Vermont & 5th St. 1200 ft. 6. 7th & Vermont to UP Tracks 2179 ft. Total Feet 6580 ft. Average Street Width = 22 feet 1.75 " overlay or 1.5 " overlay Alternates 1. North & Illinois to "A" St. & Commercial 731 ft. 2. 7th & Colorado South 410 ft. 3. 7th & UP Railroad West to City Limits 1471 ft. 4. Briarwick (18' road) 405 ft. together with any incidental work necessary to complete the above. Shoulders will be cut by the City but surfaces will need to be prepped and broomed. Contractor will provide tack coat and either 1 3/4 " or 1 1/2 " overlay per KDOT specs. MODOT specs will be considered as well. Areas in streets that have holes or dips need to be filled in 24 to 48 hours prior to being overlaid. All intersections meeting new overlay are to be end milled and radiuses filled and feathered back to provide smooth transition from surfaces. Driveways are to be feathered back 3'to provide a smooth transition. All streets are to have a 2% crown. Streets with manholes and valves higher than the street - feather back 10'. Valve and manhole risers will be provided by the City. Streets with manholes and valves lower than the street, feather back 5'. Tack coat at the rate of .10 gals per square yard is required and shall be included in the work being done. A certified check, cashier's check on a solvent bank, or a bid bond by a satisfactory surety in the amount equal to five percent (5%) of the total amount of the bid must accompany each proposal. No bidder may withdraw their bid for a period of sixty (60) days after the opening of bids, unless a contract is awarded in less than the sixty (60) days. If this proposal is accepted the undersigned hereby agrees that the work will begin not later than the authorization date in the Notice To Proceed and will diligently prosecute at such a rate and in such manner as, in the judgment of the Engineer, is necessary for the completion of the work within the time specified as follows: Within 45 working days The undersigned further agrees that, should he fail to complete the work in the time specified or such additional time as may be allowed by the Engineer under the contract, the amount of liquidated damages to be recovered in accordance with the requirements of Section 108.08 of the Standard Specifications shall be as follows: Liquidated Damages Per Working Day $200.00
