San Jose Middle School Kitchen and Fire Alarm Project. - this project consists on replacing the existing campus wide technology backbone and fire alarm system and the alteration of existing snack bars in building a and g at san jose middle school Each bid shall be accompanied by cash, a cashier's or certified check, or a bidder's bond executed by a surety licensed to do business in the State of California as a surety, made payable to the District, in an amount not less than ten percent (10%) of the maximum amount of the bid. The check or bid bond shall be given as a guarantee that the bidder to whom the contract is awarded will execute the Contract Documents and will provide the required payment and performance bonds and insurance certificates within ten (10) days after the notification of the award of the contract. Each bid shall be accompanied by cash, a cashier's or certified check, or a bidder's bond executed by a surety licensed to do business in the State of California as a surety, made payable to the District, in an amount not less than ten percent (10%) of the maximum amount of the bid. The check or bid bond shall be given as a guarantee that the bidder to whom the contract is awarded will execute the Contract Documents and will provide the required payment and performance bonds and insurance certificates within ten (10) days after the notification of the award of the contract. The successful bidder shall comply with the provisions of the Labor Code pertaining to payment of the generally prevailing rate of wages and apprenticeships or other training programs. The Department of Industrial Relations has made available the general prevailing rate of per diem wages in the locality in which the work is to be performed for each craft, classification or type of worker needed to execute the contract, including employer payments for health and welfare, pension, vacation, apprenticeship and similar purposes. Copies of these prevailing rates are available to any interested party upon request and are electronically. The Contractor and all Subcontractors shall pay not less than the specified rates to all workers employed by them in the execution of the Contract. It is the Contractor's responsibility to determine any rate change. The schedule of per diem wages is based upon a working day of eight hours. The rate for holiday and overtime work shall be at least time and one half. The substitution of appropriate securities in lieu of retention amounts from progress payments in accordance with Public Contract Code 22300 is permitted. Pursuant to Public Contract Code 4104, each bid shall include the name and location of the place of business of each subcontractor who shall perform work or service or fabricate or install work for the contactor in excess of one-half of one percent (1/2 of 1%) of the bid price. The bid shall describe the type of the work to be performed by each listed subcontractor. No bid may be withdrawn for a period of sixty (60) days after the date set for the opening for bids except as provided by Public Contract Code 5100 et seq. The District reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to waive any informalities or irregularities in the bidding. Minority, women, and disabled veteran contractors are encouraged to submit bids. This bid is subject to Disabled Veteran Business Enterprise requirements. This project is subject to prevailing wage requirements and bidder and its subcontractors are required to pay all workers employed for the performance of this project no less than the applicable prevailing wage rate for each such worker. If this project is for a public works project over $25,000 or for a maintenance project over $15,000, bidder acknowledges that the project is subject to compliance monitoring and enforcement by the California Department of Industrial Relations in accordance with California Labor Code sections 1725.5 and 1770 et seq. All Respondents, including Contractor's First tier electrical, mechanical and plumbing subcontractors must have already been prequalified by the District in accordance with Public Contract Code, 20111.6 prior to November 8, 2022, (5) working days prior to bids being submitted. The deadline for submitting prequalification applications is November 1, 2022, (10) working days prior to bids being submitted. Contractors of all tiers must be currently registered and qualified to perform public work pursuant to Labor Code, 1725.5. Each bidder shall possess at the time the bid is awarded the following classification(s) of California State Contractor's license: B General Building Contractor. Completion- 81 calendar days a. Emergency Classroom Check-In can be used to enhances campus security f. Emergency or Normal Announcements are capable of being recorded and activated by a speed dial on an administrative console, DTMF, wireless panic button, mobile app, web browser or external IP networked system using HTTPS URL-based Application Programming Interface (API) g. Internal clock is synchronized with NTP network time server whether on the LAN, WAN or Internet keeping the Scheduled events (Bells) and Announcements accurate within milliseconds. h. Audio distribution allow for scheduled or manually activated audio to be activated from the Admin Web UI, contact closure, Admin phone and/or by use of Routines i. Unlimited Schedules j. Unlimited Time, Paging, and Audio Zones k. Unlimited Page Stacking/Queueing l. Unlimited Scheduled events m. Unlimited Scheduled Audio events n. Integrated Internet Radio Source o. Email Notifications and Alerts the system can send an email with a system event, contact closure, or when a Routine has been activated to name a few p. Supervised Station Status system can be setup to send an email when a Nyquist device goes offline. The system shall have a Routines feature that allows staff to activate via Admin Web UI, dial string, panic button, mobile app, API or with an Admin phone touch interface. Routines can automatically launch a procedure, or sequence of actions, that the E7000 system executes as a result of an input trigger. Routines are designed with school security plans and can support crisis plans for situations such as school lockdown, weather events, or emergency evacuation. 1. Demolition and removal of buildings and site improvements. 2. Removing below-grade construction. 3. Disconnecting, capping or sealing, and removing site utilities. 4. Salvage of existing items for the owner, reuse in the project or for recycling. 1. Create final production artwork and layouts for each sign face. 2. Furnish materials and labor associated with fabricating and finishing all signs. 3. Provide packaging and transportation of all signs to the project site. 4. Furnish material and labor required for installation of signage. 5. All code required signage shall be field inspected per CBC 11B-703.1.1.2
