Purchase and Installation of 16" Insertion Valve. In accordance with M.G.L. c. 30, 39M, it is the intention of the Town of Franklin to seek written quotes for the services of a contractor to furnish and install a 16-inch Insertion Valve near 158 Grove Street in the Town of Franklin. The work to be performed will include furnishing and installing the insertion valve on an existing 16-inch ductile iron (DI) water main. Price to install is inclusive of mobilization, crew, service truck, EM cutting machine, and all hand and power tools to complete the valve insertion installation. The successful contractor shall furnish and install a 16" Insertion Valve as specified in the technical specifications. The insertion valve is to be installed near 158 Grove Street in franklin MA on an existing 16-inch ductile iron (DI) water main. Price to install is inclusive of mobilization, crew, service truck, EM cutting machine, and all hand and power tools to complete valve insertion installation. Provide a safe, reasonably dry, OSHA Compliant excavation for the contractor to work in. The excavation will be a 10-ft. by 10-ft. trench. o The trench will be properly supported and protected by barricades, cones, etc. o Provide extension ladder, lighting, and dewatering pump as required. o Provide top side support during the installation process. o Proper restraint of any valves located in close proximity ofvalve insertion installation. o Support ofvalve insertion upon completion (i.e., pressure treated wood, stone, etc.) o Ifrequested by the installer, form and place concrete encasement around the base of the valve body. Concrete would be 5,000 psi high early. o Supply gate box and top for valve. o Proper backfill oftrench and temporary and final paving. o Obtain all permits as required. o Secure and pay for Police details.
