Bridgewater Borough Specifications of Bid for Garbage & Rubbish Removal Collect and dispose of garbage and rubbish from Bridgewater Borough, curb line pick-up or rear alley. Garbage & Rubbish shall be stored in and collected from plastic or metal containers, with a capacity of not more than 30 gallons. Plastic trash bags of durable quality may be used. Weekly collection from private dwellings (approx. 300), Municipal Building (1), Public Works Building (1) and Fire Department (1). The Borough has a Community Clean-up Day scheduled every June that allows residents to place anything out for removal with the exception of building materials, combustible containers and electronics. This is a three (3) year contractual bid effective January 1, 2023. Collectors must carry insurance with total liability of One Million Dollars covering Public Liability and Workers Compensation to comply with PA State Law for employees and must furnish a certificate verifying the same. A Bid Bond or Certified Check in the amount of Ten Percent (10%) of the total or annual bid, made payable to the Borough of Bridgewater must accompany each bid proposal. Successful bidder must post a Performance Bond in the amount of Fifty Percent (50%) of the total annual contract price and also enter into a contract satisfactory to Council. Bridgewater Borough Council reserves the right to reject any or all bids.
