The Town of Nags Head water distribution system provides clean, safe drinking water to approximately 5,000 active service residential and commercial customers via 100 miles of existing interconnected underground piping. A Water System Master Plan, Rate Study and Capital Improvement Plan is being requested for the distribution system to evaluate and analyze the capital needs for the distribution system with recommendation for improvements to meet future water needs based upon a 10-year planning horizon. The last comprehensive WSMP was completed in 2017 in addition to a previous 2011 update focusing on Fire Protection & System Upgrades Modeling completed in 2011. Several of the components of review for the Water System Master Plan (WSMP) shall include the following; 1. Population and Growth 2. Water Use Projections 3. Water Supply and Production Evaluation 4. Existing Facilities Evaluation 5. Operational Optimization 6. Water Distribution System Analysis and Evaluation 7. Identification of system improvements and costs 8. Rate study for funding of future improvements 9. Water Distribution asset inventory data collection and GIS geodatabase preparation Demonstrated capability of the firm to perform all of the work elements, review of comparable work and references, timely mobilization of staff and equipment, schedule for completion of services will be considered. The selected firm will be notified of award within a five- week period following the submission deadline. The method of Contractor Selection has not been Determined at this time.
