Site work and paving for a road / highway in Newton, Iowa. Completed plans call for site work for a road / highway; and for paving for a road / highway.
This is a two-step process. First, a short list of firms will be selected based upon experience with projects of similar size and scope in either the public or private sector, past performance, safety record, proposed personnel, and proposed methodology. After this selection process, three (3) qualified candidates will be asked to demonstrate their grasp of the project scope and submit proposed fees for pre-construction and construction services. Lastly, the successful firm will enter a contract with the County, and that contract once executed and approved by the board of supervisors will lead to the establishment of a Guaranteed Maximum Price (GMP) for the project.
