The unveiling brought many of Valentine's friends, family and peers. Valentine Premier Construction provides roof systems and renovations to the multifamily, residential and commercial markets in Coppell. John Valentine and his wife, Kristi, built the company up over many years. John Valentine was born on Oct. 11, 1958 and passed away on Jan. 11, 2024. He was laid to rest at Rolling Oaks Memorial, across the street from the new bench in Wagon Wheel Park. CEO Kristi Valentine and her two children, Reid and Maura Valentine, welcomed everyone and thanked them for their support. The bench was made possible through community donations. "He would be so proud to be a part of anything that goes on here," said Kristi. "He’s here with us, he's happy … he would be so excited just to see all the people, be able to hug the guys.” Kristi said both herself and John served with the Coppell Baseball Association, and that John was the president of the association for a handful of years. Their son, Reid, was raised by John to be a competitive baseball player. Kristi said that John’s passion for baseball was beyond compare. “He lived for baseball, he played baseball growing up, and at Texas Tech, he loved coaching,” said Kristi. “Reid knew how to hit a pitched ball and swing a golf club before he knew how to write his name, that was kind of important to his dad.” Reid said that his father was very involved with Coppell Baseball and would spend a lot of time at Wagon Wheel Park. He said he thought his father would be proud to see the turnout and the new bench. “We spent countless hours and nights out here, so the fact that his name gets to be here forever is pretty special … he would appreciate the fact that we’re out here when there’s games going on,” said Reid. “[He would be] very proud, but he would want us to go watch some baseball and not look at a bench.” Maura said she was happy that the unveiling would honor her father’s legacy in a way that will remain a part of Wagon Wheel Park indefinitely. ________________________________________________ Update : http://tinyurl.com/4fhamy4b Renovate irrigation system and associated turf areas at this park.
