The Village of Sleepy Hollow seeks a qualified consultant to provide design services for an extension of the RiverWalk along Riverside Drive in Sleepy Hollow; extending both north and south from the existing segment. Of two extensions to the RiverWalk segment along the west side of Riverside Drive. The northern extension will meet the existing RiverWalk improvements north of Hunter Avenue, continue along the west side of Riverside Drive, past the intersection with Lakeshore Close, ending at the north side of the small stone bridge across the outflow of Fremont Pond into the Hudson River. (By this point Riverside Drive has become Pokahoe Drive.) Proposers agree to pursue the $12,000 MWBE goal when selecting sub-contractors. In the event this goal is not achieved, the selected consultant shall submit sufficient documentation to demonstrate good faith efforts to provide opportunity for MWBE firms. Proposals shall include an MWBE plan. The project has a 10% Equal Employment Opportunity participation goal. The selected consultant will undertake or continue an existing program of affirmative action and equal employment opportunity to ensure that minority group members and women are afforded equal employment opportunities without discrimination based on race, color, national origin, age, disability, sex, gender, sexual orientation, religion or any other discrimination prohibited by law. New York State certified Minority and Woman Owned Business Enterprise (MWBE) firms are encouraged to submit a proposal. The Village has a 30% MWBE goal (or $12,000) for the Hudson River Valley Greenway funds. Proposals shall include an MWBE plan. Any proposals that do not conform to the essential requirements of the RFP shall be rejected. The Village reserves the right to waive informalities and minor irregularities in submittals and reserves the sole right to determine what constitutes informalities and minor irregularities. The Village is not obligated to enter into any contract on the basis of any submittal of response to this RFP. The Village reserves the right to request additional information from any firm submitting under this RFP if the Village deems such information necessary to further evaluate the firm's qualifications. The Village reserves the right to accept or reject any or all proposals received as a result of this RFP, or to negotiate separately with competing contractors, and to waive any informalities, defects, or irregularities in any proposal, and to accept that proposal or proposals, which in the judgment of the proper officials, is in the best interest of the Village The method of contractor selection has not been determined at this time
