.1 The work of the Ice Plant Supply Contract shall include the supply and installation of a complete and operational ammonia-brine ice plant system for the existing Arena #2. .2 The system shall be designed and installed to function effectively in noted conditions. .3 The work shall include the following: .1 Demolish and remove existing ice plant equipment to be replaced in Arena #2 Refrigeration Plant. .2 Install a new complete ammonia ice plant system including new compressor package with two (2) reciprocating compressors, supplied by owner and, one (1) evaporative condenser supplied by owner. .1 Design and fabricate structural stand with service platform for condenser based on shop drawings provided for the owner-supplied condenser. .2 Supply and install all required accessories and controls for full automatic operation of owner supplied equipment. .3 Supply and install a cooling brine system including piping, pumps, expansion tank, accessories and valves. .4 Supply and install all ammonia refrigerant to fill and satisfactorily operate the complete ammonia system. .5 Supply and install all brine solutions to desired strength to satisfactorily fill and operate the system and purge all air from system. .6 Supply and install connection of new brine cooling lines to existing system complete with isolation valves. .7 Supply and install new piped and valved connections into existing heat floor system. .8 Supply and install all water connections and backflow prevention to refrigeration components, including brine tank, etc. .9 Supply and install all supports and hangers for piping and equipment. .10 Supply and install all electrical services modifications for new refrigeration equipment, including motor control centre, starters, disconnects, conduit wire, computerized ice management system, and controls to install, complete and satisfactorily operate the electrical component of the refrigerant plant. .11 Supply and install controls and interlocks required to connect the new ice plant into the existing refrigeration leak detection system. Include for revisions to ventilation system as shown on drawings and new remote emergency shutdown button and remote ventilation system activation button. .12 Provide compliance with authorities having jurisdiction over the work (Alberta Boiler Safety Association). .13 Provide all necessary fees, permits and licenses required by the Province of Alberta and local jurisdiction. .14 Provide all labour, material and equipment for all work associated with connecting to the existing cooling pipe system. .15 Provide four (4) copies of Equipment Shop Drawings within 2 weeks of tender award. Shop drawings shall be stamped by Alberta Professional Engineer. Contractor shall register with ABSA. .16 Clean and chemical treat the condenser for the refrigeration system. Treatment includes descale of internals, algae elimination, bacteria elimination and corrosion prevention. Cleaning includes exterior washdown and descaling. .17 Test and commission new ice plant equipment and controls.
