The Boone County Fiscal Court Parks and Recreation Department invites experienced Architecture and Planning firms to submit their qualifications and proposal to complete a preliminary concept plan and opinion of cost for a new Parks and Recreation Department Maintenance/Office Complex. The 4.69 acre site is located at 5635 Idlewild Road, Burlington, KY 41005. The Boone County Parks and Recreation Department presently has staff and equipment located in five buildings across Boone County with currently 85% of all rolling equipment being stored outside. The goal is to plan and construct a new consolidated facility that will house and support all departmental operations. The location for the new Parks Complex is an existing 4.69 acre site that is currently home to the Boone County Animal Shelter and Parks Maintenance building. The Boone County Animal Shelter will be relocating to a new facility in 2023. Existing mapping will be provided by the Boone County Planning Commission in GIS format and the mapping that is available can be viewed on the Boone County website at www.Boonecountygis.com. A Committee will be appointed to work with the consultant to guide the process and serve as a resource for the consultant.
