Site work and paving for a mixed-use development in Wahpeton, North Dakota. Conceptual plans call for site work for a road / highway; for paving for a road / highway; sidewalk / parking lot; sidewalk / parking lot; and water / sewer project.

Reconstruction of 2nd, 7th, and 8th Streets North from Dakota Avenue to 2nd Avenue. Also reconstruct 2nd Street South from Dakota Avenue to railroad tracks. Project includes new sanitary sewer, water mains, storm sewer, parking, lighting, sidewalks, landscaping and streetscape amenities. This project was approved by the North Dakota Dept. of Transportation (ND DOT) Urban Grant Program (UGP-8-991(038)) for funding on March 8, 2021 with an up to grant of eligible expenses of $1,402,487. The amenities that are proposed for the side streets include benches, green boulevards, planters, and trees to help make these streets more welcoming for the walking public as well as drivers on Dakota Avenue. Below is a brief description of proposed improvements for each area of the project. 2nd Street North includes parallel parking on both sides of the street from mid-block to 2nd Avenue North. Improvement include a full reconstruct with new utilities, and sidewalk on both sides of the street. Street surface is proposed to be bituminous pavement. Addition of green boulevards from alley to 2nd Avenue North. 7th Street and 8th Streets North currently have parallel parking on both sides of the street from Dakota Avenue to 2nd Avenue North. Improvements include a full reconstruct with new utilities, and sidewalk on both sides of the street. Street is proposed to be bituminous pavement. Parallel parking and the existing green boulevard from the alley to 2nd Avenue North for both are planned to be consistent with the current streetscape. 2nd Street South currently includes parallel parking on both sides of the street from Dakota Avenue to the railroad tracks. Improvements include a full reconstruct with new utilities, and sidewalk on both sides of the street. The project is included in the city's 2023-2027 capital improvement plan (CIP).
