Site work for a water / sewer project in Belmont, California. Completed plans call for site work for a water / sewer project.

As of December 12,2022, this project has not yet been awarded. The project is expected to be awarded on December 15,2022. The project primarily consists of installing 2,950 LF of internally restrained C900 PVC pipe (2125 LF of 12", 25 LF of 10", 480 LF of 8", 180 LF of 6" and 140 LF of 4") to replace existing cast iron and asbestos concrete pipe. Work also includes installation of cathodic protection test stations, air release valves, fire hydrants, service connections, existing water main/appurtenance abandonments, various surface restorations including slurry seal (151,000 SF), striping, detector loop replacements, among other appurtenance work as identified in these specifications and the bid schedule. The project is located in the Unincorporated Area of City of Belmont, San Mateo County, California. PROPOSALS submitted by parties not attending the pre-bid meeting will be rejected. The BIDDER must possess a valid Class A Contractor's license in the State of California at the time of CONTRACT award and throughout the CONTRACT term. The Contractor must have performed work on three (3) PVC water main installation projects over the last five (5) years and at least five (5) years of experience in the installation of Cathodic Protection (CP) equipment described in Section 13 47 13 of the Technical Specifications with minimum of three (3) water main project with CP device installation. In addition, the project foreman must verify they were in charge of at least five (5) previous projects, three (3) of which were exclusively PVC water main installation projects. This project includes public works as defined by California Labor Code section 1720. The successful BIDDER shall be responsible for the payment of prevailing wage rates, the training of apprentices, and compliance with other related requirements. Contractors and subcontractors must be registered with the Department of Industrial Relations (DIR) at the time of bid, or else the bid may be rejected as non-responsive. Pursuant to Public Contract Code Section 22300, the successful BIDDER may submit certain securities in lieu of the Owner retaining a portion of progress payments during the Project. The successful BIDDER will be required to furnish a Performance Bond and a Payment Bond, both in amounts not less than one hundred percent (100%) of the contract price. Each PROPOSAL must be submitted in a sealed envelope, addressed to the Mid-Peninsula Water District. Each sealed envelope containing a PROPOSAL must be plainly marked on the outside as PROPOSAL for Harbor Blvd Water Main Improvements. The envelope should bear on the outside the BIDDER'S name, address, and license number.
