Pender Soil and Water is soliciting contractors and professional firms to perform the removal of stream debris in several locations in Pender Count There will not be a group site showing for these projects, however, all bidding contractors are required to make a mandatory site visit to the areas and will have to sign a statement to verify. Work must be completed according to the woody debris removal guidelines titled "Incremental effects of large woody debris removal of physical aquatic habitat", the streamflow rehabilitation assistance program-debris removal and processing recommendations (GS 139-65), and the STRAP recommendations on permits for STRAP. Pender Soil and Water will require that the debris be places outside of the stream along stream bank and on the same side that it originated. Please include reference letters or other documentation of prior work experience. Questions regarding woody debris removal bid package should be directed to Pender Soil and Water Conservation District Office Staff at 910-259-9123, ext. 3.
