The Town of Independence will receive sealed bids on a General Contract for Town of Independence Sewer Lift Station Improvements, NE Project No. 20-2195, complete with all necessary appurtenances. The work of this contract consists of sewer lift station improvements The Contractor shall hold a Louisiana Contractors license in Municipal and Public Works Construction Classification. Contract, if awarded, will be on a unit price basis to a Bidder licensed under the provisions of the Contractors Licensing Law of the State of Louisiana. Bids shall remain binding for at least forty-five (45) days after the date set for Bid Opening. In the event the Owner issues the Letter of Award during this period, the bid accepted shall continue to remain binding until the Execution of Contract. Bidder expressly agreeing to the extension of the deadline for award provided in LSA R.S. 38:2215. Bid must be accompanied by bid security in the form of a bid bond, cashiers check, or certified check in favor of the Town of Independence, in an amount not less than five percent of the Base Bid. Both performance and payment bonds will be required in an amount equal to 100 percent of the Contract Price. Deposit on the first set of documents furnished bona fide prime bidders will be fully refunded upon return of documents in good condition no later than ten (10) days after receipts of bids. Surety companies providing bonding shall be licensed to do business in Louisiana. The Contractor is responsible for equipment and material delivery dates. A time extension to the contract duration will not be allowed for late material or equipment delivery and liquidated damages will be assessed if the contract extends beyond the contract period. The Owner reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to waive technicalities and informalities, as permitted by public bid law, La R.S.38:2212 et seq.
