SCOPE OF PROJECT The Work covered by the Contract Documents comprises construction of an Iron Removal Plant at 320 East Saginaw Highway, Grand Ledge, MI 48837. The Work includes the following major items: 1. Construction of a building for the Iron Removal Plant. 2. Installation of equipment, including a pressure filtration system, an aeration system and associated chemical feed, instrumentation equipment, piping and valves. 3. Painting and specialty coatings. 4. Installation of building plumbing and mechanical systems. 5. Installation of electrical power distribution, lighting and control systems. 6. Installation of instrumentation equipment at remote water system sites, including the elevated tanks, booster station, and well houses. The Work will be substantially completed on or before Thursday, January 16, 2025 and completed and ready for final payment in accordance with Paragraph 15.07 of the General Conditions on or before Monday, February 17, 2025. The parties also recognize the delays, expense and difficulties involved in proving in a legal or arbitration proceeding the actual loss suffered by Owner if the Work is not completed on time. Accordingly, instead of requiring any such proof, Owner and Contractor agree that as liquidated damages for delay (but not as a penalty) Contractor shall pay Owner two thousand three hundred Dollars ($2,300) for each day that expires after the time specified in Paragraph 4.02 above for Substantial Completion until the Work is substantially complete
