Renovation of a mixed-use development in Tucson, Arizona. Completed plans call for the renovation of a educational facility.

Design-Build Services relating to The University of Arizona s College of Agriculture and Life Sciences Food Products and Safety Lab Renovation and Animal Feeding and Resource Capture Facility The University of Arizona invites interested and qualified Design-Build Firms/Teams to submit a written Statement of Qualifications to provide Design-Build Services including Architecture, Engineering, Specialty Design, Construction Management, and Construction Services relating to the proposed new College of Agriculture and Life Sciences (CALS) Food Products and Safety Lab Renovation and Animal Feeding and Resource Capture Facility to be located at the University of Arizona Campus Agricultural Center in Tucson. This is a qualifications-based selection process. Neither design proposals nor fee proposals are desired at this time. The proposed scope of work includes design, construction management, and construction services. Pre-Construction Phase services will include complete design services; site surveying; geotechnical investigation; constructability reviews; building systems review and recommendations; construction scheduling; cost estimating; value engineering; recommendations for efficient project delivery; and preparation of a Guaranteed Maximum Price (GMP). It is intended that, after mutual agreement on the GMP, the agreement will be amended to include complete Construction and Warranty Phase services. The Campus Agriculture Center (CAC), located along Campbell Avenue near the Rillito River in Tucson, Arizona is a 160-acre Research, Teaching, and Extension facility which supports the functions of the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences (CALS) departments and will site both the Food Product and Safety Lab (FPSL) and the Animal Feeding and Resource Capture Facility (AFRCF) projects. The FPSL has been operational since the 1970 s and is need of upgrading and renovating to meet current standards and fulfill the University s Research, Teaching, and Extension missions. The existing infrastructure, including the cooling/processing and handling equipment, needs replacement. Vehicular access and security systems need improvement for operational and maintenance efficiencies. The AFRCF project will adaptively reuse an existing asset located at the CAC to facilitate the scientific research of ruminant biology regarding the waste-to-energy process involving anerobic digestion of bio-solids and liquids.
