Location: Phillipston - Templeton - Resurfacing and Related Work on a Section of Route 2 Route 2 (East Bound) Beginning - Station 128+08.00 +/- Ending -Station 298+85.31 +/- Route 2 (West Bound) Beginning - Station 28+08.00 +/- Ending -Station 294+44.23 +/- Contract No.: 120707 Project No.: 609107 Project Type: Highway - Construction Federal Aid No.: NHP(NHS)-003S(614)X MASSDOT - Resurfacing and Related Work on a Section of Route 2 PROJECT VALUE = $9,152,000.00 MBE (1.6%), WBE (6.9%), DBE (10%) ; Labor participation goals for this Project shall be 15.3% for minorities and 6.9% for women Completion- 581 CALENDAR DAYS The work to be completed under this contract consists of milling, resurfacing and related work on Route 2, on ramp sections at Interchanges 79, 82, and 83, and on the eastbound rest area at approximately MM 84.6, in the Towns of Phillipston and Templeton. The project begins at the existing pavement joint near MM 78.83 in Phillipston and continues east along Route 2, and ends at the Templeton/Gardner town line (MM 85.01 (EB) & MM 84.92 (WB)) at the existing pavement joints. The total project length is approximately 6.18 miles. The contract specified thickness for fine milling and HMA layers are designed to allow the existing guardrail to maintain a minimum height of 26 1/2 " and therefore remain in place. Field changes which will affect the final guardrail height must be approved by the Engineer. Additionally, this project will include bridge preservation work on P-09-006 and T-02-022, tree trimming and clearing, adjusting and/or rebuilding drainage structures, cleaning drainage structures, pipes and paved waterways, replacing existing frames and grates with hook-lock frames and grates, replacing existing frames and covers with bolt-down cover assemblies, installing hot mix asphalt berm, installing or repairing guardrail, installing slotted pavement markers, proposed signage, safety controls, erosion-sedimentation control measures, and other incidental costs to complete the work. All work shall be performed within the existing Town and/or State Highway Layout lines. No rights to enter upon or occupy private property have been obtained.
