Site work and paving for a mixed-use development in Niles, Ohio. Completed plans call for site work for a road / highway; for paving for a road / highway; sidewalk / parking lot; and sidewalk / parking lot.

The work to be performed consists of: Base Bid STATION 8 - The proposed project includes removal and replacement of portions of the existing exterior concrete entrance drive, drive approach, and parking lot with new moderate setting (ms) synthetic macro fiber concrete. Alternate Bid A STATION 8 - Includes the installation of two storm catch basins and related storm pipe located on both sides of the drive approach. Alternate Bid B STATION 7 The proposed project includes removal and replacement of portions of the existing exterior concrete entrance drive, drive approach, and walk with new moderate setting (ms) synthetic macro fiber concrete. One existing fire hydrant will be removed and relocated. Domestic Steel use requirements as specified in Section 153.011 of the Revised Code apply to this project. Copies of Section 153.011 of the Revised Code can be obtained from any of the offices of the Department of Administrative Services. Each bidder shall be required to complete and file with his bid the enclosed Proposal Guaranty and Performance/Payment Bond Form (Section 153.571 of the Ohio Revised Code) with a Surety Company executing the Bond, which is listed on the Treasury Department's most current list (Circular 570 as amended) and authorized to transact business in the State where the project is based. If the bid is accepted, the successful bidder shall enter into a contract and the Proposal Guaranty and Performance/Payment Bond shall provide the conditions in said bond, and as listed below: (A) A Contract Performance Bond in an amount equal to 100% of the estimated cost of the work conditioned, among other things that the Contractor will perform the work upon the terms proposed, within the time prescribed, in accordance with the plans and specifications. (B) A Payment Bond in an amount equal to 100% of the estimated cost of the work conditioned for the payment by the Contractor and all Sub-contractors for labor performed and materials furnished in connection with the project involved. The City of Niles reserves the right to reject any or all bids and waive any informalities in bidding. Bids of Corporations not chartered in Ohio must be accompanied by proper certification that such corporation is authorized to do business in Ohio. The successful bidder will be required to pay at least minimum wage rates pre-determined by the Secretary of Labor for the project work as required. The Schedule of Approved Wage Rates, as pre-determined by the Secretary of Labor is incorporated in the Contract Documents. This Contract is subject to the provisions of Executive Order 11246 of September 24, 1965, as pertains to an Affirmative Action Plan, and Governor Executive Order of January 27, 1972. A bidder/contractor will be deemed committed to the goals of the City of Niles Plan Bid Conditions by submitting a properly signed bid. All bidders must fill in all blanks of the proposal in ink or typewritten. Entire Contract Book must be submitted intact with the bid. The successful low bidder will be required to comply with all Contract Requirements for Equal Employment Opportunities. Each bidder must ensure that all employees and applicants for employment are not discriminated against because of race, color, religion, sex or national origin. No bids may be withdrawn after the scheduled closing time for the receipt of bids for at least sixty (60) days. IT IS ANTICIPATED WORK WILL NOT BEGIN UNTIL APRIL 15, 2023. Engineers Construction Cost Estimate: BASE BID $ 166,695.00 ALTERNATE A BID $ 10,773.00 ALTERNATE B BID $ 96,870.00
