As of July 24, 2023, the project has been awarded. A timeline for construction has not been established at this time. The City of Fairburn will accept sealed bids from qualified Contractors for furnishing all labor, equip-ment, and materials necessa1y to complete the VIRLYN B. SMITH ROAD PEDESTRIAN IM-PROVEMENTS PROJECT #23-003. The work includes the removal of existing curb & gutter, sidewalk and driveway aprons, installation of new sidewalk, replacement of existing sidewalk as re-quired, installation of new driveway aprons, installation of new curb & gutter as required, and the installation of new ADA handicap ramps. This contract will also include preparation of sub-grade, saw-cutting and demolition of existing asphalt and concrete, as well as clean up and backfilling. The scope of work will be conducted on the west side on Virlyn B. Smith Road, from Rive11own Road to the SR 14/US 29 access ramp. Add Alternate #I consists of the installation pedestrian lighting within the project limits. All work must be completed within one hundred and fifty (150) calendar days of the Notice to Proceed with Construction (NTP). No bid may be modified, withdrawn, or canceled for a period of 60 days after time designated for receipt of Bids or until notified by Owner, whichever is sooner. The City reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to waive irregularities, technicalities, and informalities.
