Each bid must be accompanied by a bid bond naming the County of Val Verde as obligee and duly executed by the Bidder as principal and having as surety thereon a surety company approved by the Owner, in the amount of five percent (5%) of the total bid price (including base bid(s), option(s) and alternate(s)). All Bid Bond Forms Must Contain Original Signatures. The successful Bidder must furnish Performance and Payment Bonds each in the amount of 100% of the contract price from an approved Surety Company holding a permit from the State of Texas to act as Surety and acceptable according to the latest list of companies holding certificates of authority from the Secretary of Treasury of the United States, or other Surety or Sureties acceptable to the Owner. The County reserves the right to accept or reject any or all bids and to waive formalities to the extent permitted by law. Attention is called to the fact that not less than, the federally determined prevailing (Davis-Bacon and Related Acts) wage rate, as issued by the U.S. Department of Labor and contained in the contract documents, must be paid on this project.
