Water and Sewer Extensions consisting of approximately 1,170 L.F. of 8" PVC water mains along with valves and fittings, and 1,160 L.F. of 8" gravity sewer main, along with six (6) manholes, and other related items, including all necessary labor, materials, equipment, tools, etc., Bids must be accompanied by a certified check or bid bond in the amount equal to 5% of the bid, made payable to the City of Opelousas, Louisiana, as a guarantee that the bidder will furnish all necessary bonds and enter into a contract if his bid is accepted. Sureties used for obtaining bonds must appear as acceptable on the U.S. Department of Treasury Circular 570 and be licensed to do business in the State of Louisiana. No bidder may withdraw his/her bid within forty-five (45) days after the actual date of the opening thereof, unless withdrawal of bid is in accordance with LA. R.S. 38:2214C. The Owner hereby notifies all bidders that in regard to any contract entered into pursuant to this Advertisement, that Minority Business Enterprises will be afforded equal opportunity to submit offers in response to this invitation and will not be discriminated against on the ground of race, color, sex, national origin or disability in consideration for an award.
