As of June 10, 2024, a general contractor has been identified and construction is underway since Fall 2023, completion expected Spring 2025. The section of SW Reservoir Dr. and Wickiup Ave. between 39th St. and Helmholtz Way is an old 2-lane county road. The pavement is in poor condition, there are no sidewalks, no shoulder or bike lane. There are also existing stormwater runoff problems, waterline connections are needed, and the sewer needs to be extended to serve properties to the south that are vacant or have existing septic systems. Reconstruction to collector standards is proposed to remedy the situation and provide walking and cycling connectivity between neighborhoods near Helmholtz Ave. to parks and a school to the east. This old county road needs vehicular, pedestrian and cycling improvements to meet City collector standards. Water and stormwater improvements are also needed along with extension of sewer to allow for development and elimination of septic systems. *Project information has been obtained through a public capital improvement plan (CIP). A CIP is a financial schedule for short- and long-range projects which is updated regularly. Information listed in the CIP often evolves based on funding availability and the project details, including timeline and value, are subject to change.
