The Central Nebraska Public Power and Irrigation District (Central) extends an invitation to submit sealed bids and statements of qualifications (bid package) for the Elwood Dam Seepage Mitigation System Project (Project). Scope of Work: The Project consists of providing all labor, materials, and equipment to construct a new seepage mitigation system along the downstream side of Elwood Dam and around an existing pump station. Work includes dewatering, excavation and braced excavations, installation of toe drain piping, earthfill including construction of washed sand and gravel filters and blankets, placement of common earthfill, final grading, and site reclamation. The approximate construction costs are anticipated to be in the range of $3.5 Million to $4.0 Million. The Project is located at Elwood Dam and is within Sections 19, 29, 30, and 32 of Township 8 North, Range 22 West of the Sixth Principal Meridian. Elwood dam is about 3 miles north of Elwood, NE and accessed via Phillips Road from highway 283. Bids shall include: Bid Bond in the amount of 5% of the total base bid. Certified check, cashier s check or bid bond made payable to Owner. Selected bidder shall supply: Performance Bond and Payment Bond as specified in the Project bid documents. Central reserves the right to reject any or all bids, hold bids for 30 days and select most beneficial bid. Approval of a bid by the Board of Directors of the District will constitute the contract between the parties and which contract shall consist of the documents as detailed in the Project bid documents. Bids may not be withdrawn after , and no bids will be considered that are delivered after said time. The method of contractor selection has not been determined at this time. *The value for this project is based on a financial range. The value is listed as the highest possible cost from the range provided by a stakeholder or official project document. The Project is located in Gosper County approximately 3 miles north of Elwood, Nebraska and includes the following Work: Clearing and stripping work areas. Constructing a toe drain, including perforated drain pipe surrounded by a two-stage filter consisting of washed sand and gravel. Toe drain construction includes excavation, dewatering, filter sand, drain gravel and pipe installation, and backfill. Placing a weighted filter consisting of a sloped zone of graded sand that is covered by compacted earth fill from on-site sources. Constructing a filter diaphragm at the pump station, including dewatering, designing and constructing a braced excavation, excavation around the existing outlet conduit, placing an envelope of filter sand around the conduit, drain pipe installation, and backfill. Placing a blanket drain at the main dam consisting of a layer of filter sand and a common fill cover over the sand. Blanket drain construction includes dewatering, filter sand placement, collection pipes, and common fill placement. Reclaiming and reseeding disturbed areas.
