Site work for a bridge / tunnel in Danby, New York. Completed plans call for site work for a bridge / tunnel.
The project includes removal of existing culverts, installation of replacement culvert along with headwall and wingwalls, and installation of grade control structures (cross-vanes, engineered rock riffle) and riprap. Each bid must be accompanied by security in an amount not less than five percent (5%) of the amount of the bid in the form and subject to the conditions provided in the Information for Bidders. No Bidder may withdraw his bid within forty-five (45) days after the actual date of opening thereof. This is an exempt capital improvement project, and Bidders shall not include in their bid sales and compensating use taxes on the cost of materials which are to be incorporated into the work and which are to be separately sold by the Contractor to the Town prior to incorporation into the work of the Contract. The attention of Bidders is particularly called to the requirements as to conditions of employment to be observed and minimum wage rates to be paid under the Contract. The right is reserved to waive any informalities in the Bid and to reject any or all Bids. W/MBE companies are encouraged to submit bids. The work under Contract No. 2 for West Jersey Hill Road Culvert Replacement Project is located on Lick Brook where it crosses West Jersey Hill Road in the Town of Danby, Tompkins County, New York. The midpoint of the project area is located at 42 22' 58.458" N and-76 31'25.836" WNAD 83. The project includes removal of two existing culverts, replacement with a 14' 3" by 9' 2" squash pipe, installation of stacked rock headwall and wing walls, and approximately 90ft. of stream bank stabilization along Lick Brook where it cross West Jersey Hill Road. The proposed work consists of installing rock grade control structures (engineered rock riffle and cross vanes) upstream and downstream of the culvert to stabilize the eroding, incising stream channel. Grade control structures along the channel will anchor the design bed elevation and maintain a constant and stable slope through the project area. Bank grading and stabilization with riprap will be performed to stabilize eroding banks at both the inlet and outlet
