The Property Management Branch requires various types of engineering services to assist with the delivery of the operating contract for the Swan Hills Treatment Centre (SHTC). This is an hourly rate contract providing technical advice (quarterly audit, environmental stewardship and other subject matter advice). This contract for engineering services is separate to and independent of the contract for the operation of the SHTC. The SHTC is the only facility in Canada that can dispose of high concentration Polychlorinated Biphenyl (PCB) waste. Since inception, the SHTC has disposed of over 435,000 tonnes of hazardous waste. In addition, the SHTC maintains one of the most comprehensive environmental monitoring programs of any industrial facilities in Canada. The project schedule calls for commencement of Contract by February 01, 2023 and completion of Services by February 01, 2028. The Method of Contractor Selection has not been determined at this time.
